Howdy folks, Had a little saw time yesterday but cut mainly duds or just plain ole wood. Had a hunk break in the vice and almost lost another belt too. Anyway, I did get one hunk of shrinkwood that I go a couple of clean slabs from. Here are as couple of pics.....Mel Closer:

That looks like an amazing slab! I had something that looked similar to the edges of that slab and when I tried to cab it, it crumbled. Is that a problem with some of the shrink woods? This one you have sure looks solid! Fran

Fran: I just drew out some shrinkwood cabs with the templates yesterday and probably 40% of the material; will be relegated to the tumbler due to problems I could see in the slabs. Some had soft spots or vugs in bad places and some was very fractured when it was all dried out. These were pretty solid....Mel
