I have to cut down a mountain - want to help ? I need big diamond saws or something. I know this is a big project, therefore I am willing to offer some ownership interests to people that will put in hard work and maybe let us use some equipment. I am an accountant. and an artist.... I have some buyers, but I wouldnt mind carving the rocks & selling statues etc instead. Please note, I still have to do some work on the legal...... My partner is a prospector - hates the city. knows his rocks. if someone wants to help - replay & then I'll phone u on a cell phone. So, I need some equipment - I think I need a big diamond saw so I can cut the mountain into chunks & remove it. I also need some kind of a truck that will take the weight of a full load of ore - I want to keep the pieces as big as possible without breaking up. And then how the heck do you lift a big chunk of rock - like say it doesnt break up and its as big as a person, how do I get this rock onto the truck. Don't laugh too hard. I'm just a girl.......... My mining partner is a grassroots 420 mountain man - he's tumbled rocks since he was 14 and he doesn't venture out into civilization much. Stay Righteous. This doesn't make sense to me. You don't cut a mountain with a diamond saw. You use bulldozers and backhoes. You also use track drills and dynamite to break it up.

You would have to check laws in Canada as far as the legal side. Large scale mining would require a major investment in equipment. Wire saws, generators, loaders, dump trucks, and on and on. You can buy gas powered rock saws that can be used for cutting smaller blocks. Hammer drills, wedges, and a lot of hard work would be less costly.

Dexpan, that's the stuff I was thinking of, of course you'd still have to get one huge drill. Maybe you can rent one of those gas powered jack hammers for a few days.

Seems like a wind-up. Partner knows his rocks but never heard of a backhoe? Never heard of a forklift? The potential for injury is huge. My husband works in industrial weights and measures. Almost everyone in that industry has been injured at some time, and that's folks who know what they're doing and who have proper workmen's compensation. I'm not saying that the lady's friend is looking to create a lawsuit lottery situation but I'm saying that there's something very, very wrong, and in her shoes, I would make haste very slowly. You never "HAVE" to move a mountain unless you're the Army Corps of Engineers.
Also, feel free to laugh at the little old lady, but there's no way I, for one, will get involved in any business dealing with a person who uses. Heavy machinery and 420. Is that a combination that makes sense to you? Really?

I know a mining engineer who would know exactly what's involved in doing what you propose to do. I'm sure he would tell you not to do it, unless you already have millions of dollars to invest in equipment, and people who know exactly what they are doing. Mining of any sort is extremely dangerous work, and not for the amateur to undertake.
