Hello, everyone! These days I met my rock friends from here, going to a rockhounding trip we use to go every summer. This year I skipped the shortest and quickest route and chose a scenic road, going through the mountains. Here are some pictures from that road: Then, we all the rockhounds met: Here's the whole group: At least the evening we met was a good weather and we could sit and talk, grill a BBQ and drink some beer. But after that, the weather turned rainy (you know, the kind of rain that kinda says "I don't even think to go away soon"). So our search was pretty limited. I even didn't take the camera with me because of the drizzle. But, even so, we found some rocks. Here are my finds: The biggest find was a pet wood (the next two photos): Of course, I found some other rocks too. Here's a group pic: and some close-ups: Despite the bad weather, we felt good together and also found nice rocks. Thank you for looking, Adrian

Excellent pictures Adrian, I love to see the countryside in your neck of the woods. One day I'll get over there to see it in person. Looks like you found some nice material to boot. When it rains here that is our checkered flag to go out hunting, the pretty rocks are always much easier to see when they are wet!!!

You certainly do have pretty scenery in your country Adrian. Nice to see somewhere where there is a little green showing in the countryside. I really love your field trip reports and it looks like you found some fine rocks too. The one in the last picture looks like it could really have some interesting patterns.....Mel

Adrian, that was a wonderful trip and thanks for inviting us all along with you. The petrified wood is beautiful and the smaller rocks look very colorful. Love that greenish piece third row on the left after the petrified wood. Great color in that stone.

You're right, Ed, those are the Carpathians (Carpats, as we name them here). This road we've traveled on is "Transalpina". You can google it.

Adrian the scenery there is so beautiful, I can see why you love the area. Considering the rain you still found some nice looking rocks to cab.

Thanks for the show, beautiful country and good finds. Looks like you did take the "drivers road", always more fun and less hurried.
