Hello, everyone! Last evening we went to the airport and picked Karen. Her flights here were OK. Here she is, still full of energy, just getting out of the customs in the airport: A warm welcome from the three of us: Welcome home, Karen! We hope you will have a great vacation. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Hello, again! Tony, are you envious you say? Then read this: ;D After two days spent in Bucharest, Karen and me went rockhounding on the Danube banks. Here is the place we searched for rocks (mainly pet woods): And we did find some nice pet woods, although neither too big nor too many. And, after getting her eyes with the look of the local stones, Karen also found a couple of nice pet woods. So, we were returning to the car with our "capture" of rocks, in order to go ahead to a second location. But, just 200 feet before the beach of rocks would end and we would leave it... ... ... a BIG pet wood showed up! ;D How big? That big, that me alone I was not able to move it at least a bit. It was stuck there like in concrete. And, we were digging until the contour of the log came out: At that moment, it was very clear to me that I couldn't move this big piece by myself , even with Karen's help. So I called a friend of mine living not very far and asked him help. We were picking him from his place; here he is, together with Karen: So, we went back and with the proper tools we could extract the giant from its shelter: Well, this was the easy part. After this, the transportation to the car begun: Firstly, with a cart... ... and when the path got too bumpy, with a blanket: Finally, we got it close to the car: I was twisting my mind how to make room for it in the trunk, and finally I did it. On our way back, I really felt the car behave differently than normal, being so heavy. We spotted some storks, which Karen enjoyed a lot, so here is a picture of it: It was a fantastic day. What a find! And what a luck to have been happened when Karen was around, to witness all of this! In fact, all the pictures above depicting the big log extraction were taken by her. She also took some funny videos with all our struggle. Needless to say that we abandoned the idea of visiting the second location. Thank you for looking, Adrian PS. Karen told me to write she had a great time, we had such a packed schedule these days that she barely has the power to type anything

Wow! What a great find! Karen did a good job of documenting the whole process too! Thanks for sharing it. Will Karen get a nice cross-section of that log to take home?
