how much gravity weight should be used on a saw when cutting agate flint ect ? 10 inch barranca 303 blade water cooled ?

This is a matter of experimenting. See how much weight it takes your vice to move empty, and start out by doubling that weight for cutting. You may have to add or subtract a little weight. For an old Star Diamond saw I had, I used a 3 pound fishing weight for soft material, and a 1-1/2 pound for harder material.

I guess the scientific way would be to use a fish scale and see how much weight it takes. If you feed by hand you can hear the motor sound change when feeding too fast. You can play with the weight to cut by sound.
