I went by a gravel pit yesterday that I hadn't been to since last year. I asked if I could hand pick through the bull rock and oversize rock if I paid oversize rock prices which are 24 bucks a ton. He said fine, we talked a bit and he told me that the Rialitos gravel pit sets pet wood aside and sells it for 500 bucks a ton. I'll have to eyeball that stuff one of these days. I found quite a bit of wood along with large rocks for the flower garden. Some showed good potential I cut a couple up and a piece of jasper I picked up that turned out nice. Here is the wood starting with what I had left of one of the pieces: The jasper: I cut for a while and then I started feeling weird, kind of tingly and I knew I was getting overheated. I looked at the thermometer and I knew why: Your body talks to you, you just need to listen. It's all in the tumbler now, I'll post them in about a month. Thanks for looking.

Great finds Carlos. I really like the mossy specimen! IT has been a bit hot lately hasn't it? I was out cutting trails this morning and finally had to quit because I couldn't keep the sweat out of my eyes. You're really making me want a pet wood hunting trip. Soon as the weather cools, I'm off to Three Rivers again.....Mel

Carloscinco is that like get in a pile and smile or dozing off and dreaming about it? lol 112 here yesterday. I picked a bad day to move my saw after building a good solid stand for it. A 10" saw is heavy when it has to be lifted three and a half feet up and sat on a stand and you have no help. Plus I have bad legs and weigh less than the saw does. But leverage can move mountains. Didn`t finish till halftime of the Saints game. But I`m all set now.

You really have some awesome rocks down that way Carlos. Amazing how different the wood looks in S Tx compared to E Tx.
