Nice work... Sucks that you lost some to a gallery that packed up without notice. I hope that never happins to me. You must do a lot of dremel work on those small ones. Great job.

yes, its a fordom flex shaft tool as the hand piece is much nicer than the nicest dremel, not as buzzy as the dremel. Tiny diamond bits, good magnification, good light and lots of patience!
I have two larger carvings in process that I work on now and then, one is a big orange alabaster frog and the other one is another lizard in arizona marble

I like working with the Utah Orange Alabaster but it has been hard to get. When I call alpine they say they are out. Enjoy it if you have some...

Wow those are some GREAT carvings. Seems carving is becoming very poular. I never in my life attempted to carve anything before not even a turky LOL. Just started the other day with a piece of scrap Allabaster that Jim was so kind to give me. I must say it is addictive. Now I think I will get a Fordam machine as using a broken blade from a scissor just don't cut it LOL Stu

Hi frog. Nice stuff. How hard is that serpentine? nmonyx. Here is a thread to the place that I bought the orange Utah. Sometimes she has it and sometimes not. How big are you looking for? I have some small pieces from the solar flare around here somewhere if I can find them. If I come up with them I will let you know. The piece that came out of the center of the solar flare went to China with me and they went nuts over it. Not as a carving stone (to soft) they just wanted a stone from the USA. I just checked at Stone Sculptors Supply and they have a bunch of it. It is on holiday special $2.70 a pound with a 10 pound minimum. stonesculptorssupplies.com/I liked working with it also except for the hard spots. I did not have a dremel at the time.

Just want to say that I have one of the chrysoprase lizard carvings from FrogandBear Creations. I put it on a choker made of tiny peridot chips and every time I wear it, I get compliments. I really love it, and the size/color makes it so wearable. Can't remember if I photographed the project when I first completed it or if I wandered off and got distracted but it came out really nice!!! Thanks, Frog!!!

Here is a photo...there's a lady who works at my grocery store who is always trying to get it away from me. I'll have to remember to direct her to your site now that I know you have carved another. Shoulda thought of it before... Don't get me started on store owners who have a business model based on not paying artists for their work. I got robbed every single time of something whenever I agreed to put something on commission. I'm done with that.
