I'm in the process of slabbing a green rock I got the other day.The outside of this rock is identical to some of the flat pieces of petwood I find here,but I figured this was aventurine when I first got it,maybe wood? Backlit cut some more snuffy

I find aventurine here that looks similar but the green is not as intense. Does it have shiny flakes in it? The surface deterioration on yours looks the same as mine. Jim

"Aventurine" is quartzite with mica flakes that sparkle. Looks like you have quartzite, does it have silvery sparkles ? can be goldish too.
