I finally got a little time to cut a few slabs from a stone I had received in a box from rockpup. I suspect it is graveyard plume now that I have cut a few slabs. I thought it was all black plumes but I have found the white ones now that it is sliced open. There is a large fracture through part of the stone so some of the slabs fell apart as they were cut. I really don't mind that because I don't have to be extra careful avoiding the cracks if they have already broken. Lots of black clouds/plumes and white plumes. Her are a few that I have so far. Thanks for looking! Fran

I agree that its some really nice graveyard, and very high grade at that. It will turn out some high end pieces when you cab that.

Very nice slabs Fran. I really like the contrast in them.

Hi Fran Sorry about the cracks. You never know until it is cut . There does look to be some fine cabs it those pieces. I have had this material about twenty years. The fellow I got it from dug it at least twenty years before that. I believe sometime in the late 50's or early 60's. If it turns out you can't use the rock let me know and I will replace it but it will have to wait until next June. Don

I really don't mind that because I don't have to be extra careful avoiding the cracks if they have already broken. Very nice Fran and I agree! I hate finding fractures when I'm half way done with a cab! I remember reading here once.... can't for the life of me remember who said it though.... that would drop their slabs on the floor before cabbing for the very same reason.... to get the fractures out of the way

Don, I could never be disappointed in what you sent! This was in a flat rate large box at a great price and what a variety it had! I am enjoying each and every rock that was in there and this is no exception! I now have several partially cut rocks I need to glue to wood so I can continue cutting the rest of the slabs. (there are still many more that are awaiting their turn at the saw). I really do like the fractures to show up now so I can pick my cab locations better. Fran
