Yep these all came from South Dakota,as I look at pictures 3 & 4 they came from a dig we call townley.

OK Roger, I have to ask some questions I have wondered for a long time; The rind on those really seems kind of plain and ugly. How do you know you have found a nodule worth keeping when you are hunting? Also, do you stabilize the slabs before cabbing if they have natural fractures in them? I am always in awe when I see the beauties that you find! Fran

Hi Fran,You are the rind or skin we call it is a good indicator we break or chip many duds before you find a good one.Some not all need, stabilizing depends on how deep you dig,the deeper ones seem to be less weathered. Pictures 2,3,4 & 5 have clear resin on then.I love #5.
