Cut a fist sized chunk of Blue Mountain and a half-fist endcut of ROcky Butte. The Blue Mountain kinda disappoints because it is so dark and the part at the bottom is grainy. Had trouble with water beading in the photo too. The Rocky Butte has a tan sky. The scenes are OK.

Still quite interesting stuff. Lets see how cabs of the Blue Mountain turn out,

I have noticed that for the most part the Blue Mountain does tend to be dark. But just the same those are still nice looking slabs with a hint of promise in them. The Rocky Butte does have some real nice color in it with a promise of some sci-fi looking scenes in them.

I value the fine-grain texture of the blue parts of the Blue Mountain, but I don't think I have time to fuss with these slabs. I have too many other slabs holdin gmy interest much stronger. I think I will offer them in the buy-sell-swap section later this week. It really is pretty dark without the bright photo lights. There are a few orbs/scalops, but I want more color variation. May as well see if I can get a good trade or a few bucks.

I don't know. That blue mountain is really striking! Even with the soft area to avoid, there is so much going on in them, they should turn out amazing cabs! The rocky butte is so bright! Lots going on there! Fran
