Hi All,
I've got a friend who just got back from rocking in Connecticut with a bunch of what he is calling "gem quality aquamarine" which he found there. He has offered to sell me some if I want, but I have no idea of what to look for in aquamarine or what it's worth. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Cathy

I don't know what to look for either, but pics would be a good place to start.

clarity and color. "gem" quality should at the very least be eye clean, free of inclusions and obvious flaws and have good color. beyond that, shape and carat weight of the rough will dictate price.
