The flint with crinoids is very cool. We have similar material but all ours are in limestone....Mel

how well does that crinoid polish? would the orange undercut a bit in a tumbler? could give a nice effect.

i don`t know why i didnt id them all , the crinoid is limestone base. the crinoid fossils are calcite , so should tumble without undercutting , as compared to if they were quartz . have`nt tumbled or cabbed or anything but cut this piece in half , came from the limestone quarry here, it is the only one just like this ive found , there is a good bit of pyrite out there, this piece is red from iron . it is solid, no fractures or pits, no , there is one pit . the crinoids sparkle from the calcite . i t is a 3 1/2" x 3" x 3/4" piece . would definetly make good cabs
