I ordered and received a couple of new 3M respirators and a dozen pairs of dust filters last week so I whupped out the old saw. I pulled this nodule out of the pile. I'd had it a while and I wasn't sure if it was flint or a quartz ball. Boy was I surprised when it turned out to be a purty bluish agate. The black dots at the top are hematite. I've been itching to get into cabbing so I'm going to save this in case I do. Thanks for peeking, Carlos

Yeah you never know with Rio Grande. Some of them look ugly and boring on the outside, but can be full of plume, banding etc. I have a couple if pieces that look really dull, but are colorful palmwood on the inside. Never hurts to throw it in the saw, you might wind up with a real winner!

Now that's a surprise inside! Better than a tootsie pop!

Haha at first I thought you were joking, I could swear the first pic looks like a potato.

Pretty cool agates! I like the part at the top of the left one where that black dot is. Pretty cool how it is surrounded by those lines of black chicken tracks. That would make a pretty cool cab!
