Here is just some Last Chance Canyon jasp-ag I've slabbed over the past week. Have to put a hold on everything because we just realized that our beloved Rat Terrier Goober is having major allergic reactions to the Lube Cool I'm using in the saw. My arms & legs get covered by the mist and splatter all day long and then Goober licks me. He normally doesn't lick your skin but he does when I'm covered in rock snot after a days worth of sawing. I saw in his dog run, next to the patio. I dump the saw tank and rinse everything off there. We couldn't figure out what in the heck was wrong with him, breaking out in welts & large red spots. Terriers are know for skin allergies to begin with. When I stop sawing for a couple days, he clears up. I start sawing, he breaks out again. Time to pick a new location. In the mean time, I'll be doing major modifications to my temperamental 10" Covington saw and I'll post pics when I'm done. I was having issues with Lube Cool and am switching over to another product. Goober needs a break too!
This material looks great close up and I'll post pics later after I cab it.
News Flash! While tearing down the saw for major cleaning & maintenance, I noticed the arbor had a tiny bit of play in it. Odd for sealed bearings. Purchased the saw January of last year and just missed the 1 year warranty. Called Brian at Covington and they said they would cover the warranty and give me a new one. He said sometimes they will go over 1 1/2 years on the warranty if something happens that shouldn't. Cool!
