I've never seen anything like either of those before! Wow... if the gang saw is like a bread slicer where you can cut a whole lot of slabs at once out of any rock... that would be incredible!

So I gotta ask, how do you secure the rock in the bottom of the slabber? Just thinking the pressure of 10 or 12 blades cutting at once has got to be high, and I am envisioning part (or all) of the rock coming loose and wreaking havoc on things. If the outer slabs cut through first, what keeps them from wedging between the blades and getting "flung"? Cool idea, very similar to the gang saws used by the marble/granite quarries, but those are wire saws typically and are driven independently... Just trying to rationalize it out. Thanks!

Thanks Jake... but I have a mental block about how machinery works. I know, sounds weird, but mechanics really does make my eyes glaze over:P. The only thing I want to know about tools is how to use them, not how they are made, or how to fix them, so odds of me making one is slim to none. Hubby has no time at all to do stuff like that either:(.
