These were very fractured so I sealed them in resin I use Super Clear Resin it very clear and easy to mix. A simple 2 to 1 ratio, I use a small scale for to be exact. I used to use Opticon but it yellows after it dries.I will grind them into cabs..

How long do you leave them in the resin? How long does it take to dry them after you take them out?

Hi,Ok here's how I use Super Clear Resin That is the brand name I found the ad in Lapidary Journal.I ordered it on line at Resin Obsession.I heat my rocks to about 150-200 degrees I mix the resin and try to warm it to the same temp as the rocks.I then brush or pour it on then I turn the oven off and put the cabs back in to cool slowly as the oven cools and its dust free in the oven. Then I grind them into cabs.

Hi Roger. Are these agates for sale anywhere? Also the superclear... can a stone that is very pitted be dipped and set aside to dry or does it have to be brushed on? Thanks! Nice stones, can't wait to see the finished ones... Phil
