Just got back from collecting some aventurine near Hamilton mound, wi. Headed to Nichols to find raspberry quartz today. If I find any cool specimens they may end up in the box.

Ditto what Kap said, haven't read every post since signing on and didn't see the one asking for everyone's info to be sent to the host. Pm sent.

Guys... that was completely my fault about the rule change with the addresses!! But it makes sense to have the host know how to contact people in case they are not on the forum when their turn comes up:). Thank you all for your cooperation:)! I'm working on the FINAL shipping order now, and will update everything on the FRONT page so you guys only need check 1 place for updates and not read every thread if you don't want to:).

Hi Don:). I totally agree!!! But I also understand that sometimes life makes us busy, and sometimes you can't read pages and pages if you've been away for a bit. However, I can't promise that I will always update instantly, so reading the thread is always fastest:).
One of the requirements for the box is that everyone who gets it posts pix of: 1. all received contents 2. removed contents 3. added contents
I will link them to the first note so they can be quickly referenced later on the front page, so people don't have to dig through all the pages to see:).
Front Page is UPDATED!!

can someone tell me exactly how to link to ONE post instead of only the page at the top of the post so you have to dig through every note on it to get to the one post (with the pictures)?
I thought that might be Link to Post, but nothing happens when you click on it...

Just to keep the interest up I am going to tell a little about what I am putting in for Pat but I am not giving away the whole truth for a little excitement. Pat wants to try carving so she is going to be good to go when she gets the box. There will be two kinds of alabaster and a few extra tools that I have. Nothing fancy but a starter kit. The secret thing is something that I brought back from China but I am not going to tell anything about it at this point. Nothing fancy or expensive but very very unique for someone in the US to have.
Do not use up all your nine lives. Jim

I just bought Gale and Clint's 16lb box of slabs so I'm sure a few of those will end up in there. Of course, I'm probably going to have to have help with IDing them

Box Update:
Just received a SFRB from Susan (Bluesky)... have not had time to take any photos, but will do that Sunday with everything else for update when I pack the box so I'm not scattering photos all over the thread.
Just letting everyone know that Susan (who's near the end of the swap) wanted everyone to have a beautiful gem quality Rhodochrosite!!! She's got 15 cab sized pieces individually packaged, 1 for everyone as her gift:).
They are gorgeous:). Thanks Susan!!

Just to clarify:P. I call stones that are translucent 'gem quality' if they aren't usually translucent, some of these look translucent... but regardless, they are gorgeous, and everyone's going to be thrilled to get one:). Thank you so much Susan!!

Quick update!! Just got home from the florida agates!!!! They were not what I was expecting.... they're BETTER!!!! I've never seen anything like this stuff before in my life... and it's from FLORIDA!!! The pieces I was expecting were like this: www.apalachee-minerals.com/Agatized_Coral/agatized_coral.htmKinda neat, but boring colors and what do you DO with them? I was going to get some anyway just as a souvenir for you guys. Well what I got was WAY WAY WAY more interesting!!! She DID have some of those, but they are... well... as I said, BORING. What I got are florida agates... REAL florida agates... but all bubbles!!! In COLORS... multicolored bubbles!!! I'm off to take some pix of them, you are going to flip out. I have never seen this stuff anywhere, and never ran across them in photos either (if you want to have a discussion about what they are, I'll post another thread OK:P? Not on the swap thread:P). I bought ALL the bubble pieces she had that were small (rest were in big cavern like rocks, but looked more like the ones in the pictures. These do not, they are weird looking). I'm not sending all of them, but sending enough to slice so everyone can have a piece:). I hope you can all cab them to compare, I have NEVER seen this stuff before, let alone cabs made with it!! Pictures coming soon, but I will post them in specimens, not all the pictures I will post are being shipped in this box, but EVERYONE in the swap will get a piece, Jim can cut them:). ALSO!!!! Got the PACKED SFRB of little cab sized goodies from Krystee (tntmom)! You ALL need to give her and Don(Jakerocks) a big hug for sending them, they did not have to, and neither are participating in this swap, so are missing out on all the goodies... yet they sent us stuff to enjoy too. Awesome people:). I will get photos of Krystee's stuff, but I plan to pillage the box a bit first:P. I will replace anything I pillage however:). Man oh man... wait til you see this box!!! FINAL photos will still not get taken til Sunday, because while I can take pix of all I plan to put in there, until I actually pack it all, I won't know what will fit. So I'm packing, then I'm going to pull it all back out for photos on Sunday, before it goes out to Jim on Tues. This is going to be one incredible box going out, and I think you will all be very happy you are in it, new OR old timer:).
