I spent 30 minutes trying to insert images to this post. It seems the proboards software removes my image tags and url. So here is a link to my Picasa web album of my spheres. picasaweb.google.com/114618304310058218927/MyStoneSpheres#Please feel free to comment here or there. Thanks for looking.

Thank Bill. It is "Lace Amethyst" from Mexico. I bought it.
I wish I could have out the pitcures here so you wouldn't have to link over there.

Those are some nice spheres, I really like the Amethyst and clear quartz. I got a kick out of your comment that you got some material from Larry Bidwell, I had him for a lapidary class in Jr High, he is the one who got me into this hobby.

Hey Shotgunner, It looks like this forum does not like the "s" (stands for secure) in the https:// etc, etc at the beginning of the IMG code. Just delete that s before you add your photos. Here's ONE OF your spheres: However, you will have to insert your captions. Jean PS, nice spheres, BTW.

Everybody likes the clear quartz one.
DANG! I did not make that one. I bought it on ebay for $30 shipped from mainland China!!! Took two weeks to get here. Packaging was immaculate. Product was exactly as described.

Because I can see into the clear one, I like it best. Amethyst next.... but with spheres you can keep turning them and turning them for a different view... forever...

deedolce time is highly variable. Larger ones take long, higher Mohs stones take longer. The 4.5" marble too about 4 hours total. The jasper one took about 2.5 hours due to the smaller size. The 3.5" Amethyst one took the longest. It was my second one. I had to power wash the grit from the crystal' voids between every step and after polish. Since I had only been in class for two weeks, the teacher required she do all the blasting so I was at her mercy. Soon I will be able to work on two or three at a time. Cutting one, roughing another and fine or polish grinding a third. Soon...
