Susan and I have been swapping some rocks. She has sent my newbie self all kinds of challenges. A total learning experience! Here is a big freeform that I did of a nugget of apatite that see sent. I have NEVER seen a rock with a white powder on it. The habit was really cool. After I got a good slice, I ground off the rind and was pretty much left with this. Totally sweet!! It is very, very soft, but took an excellent polish. I only used the last 4 wheels (and the 12,000) on it. I have a question---- Have any of you worked with angelite?? If so, is it just another name for this light blue apatite? They seem so much alike. Attachments:

Beautiful cab!! I think that angelite is a completely different stone, but not 100% sure. I'll have to research that.

It is beautiful! You seem to have completely conquered the trim saw, so I will not hold back! The cab is beautiful--great job!

Angelite is just blue Anhydrite: anydrous calcium sulphate - mohs 3.5
Apatite is the name of a group of phosphate minerals (hydroxylapatite, fluorapatite, chlorapatite and bromapatite) having a Mohs hardness around 5.

Susan is awesome. She sent me some common WA opal and a few different kinds of obsidian when I was first getting into the hobby, and then some wire for wrapping later on. Thanks Again Susan ;D
Great Job, rockjunquie :-) You caught on fast!

Beautiful cab, Tela, and great shine. I think your decision to bump it up to 12000 was a good one!
