Here are two materials that I have worked on for the first time. The Banded Rhyolite had some beautiful patterns but I found it to be a very soft material to work. So I started on the 220 wheel and I think it came out great. For a soft stone it took a great shine as well, and tis was just with the 3000 wheel with no additional polish. After working with that beautiful piece of Mexican sheen OB I think I cought the OB bug LOL. I had this piece of Snowflake for a while so I gave it a go. It was a lot of fun to work and I worked this piece starting with the 220 wheel as well. The snowflake plumes have such a tremendous depth that is not being picked up in the pictures however I did try to give you a close up of the delicate plumes. Hope you enjoy and tanks for looking. Stu As I said it did take a nice shine As you can see it shines like glass, and I tried to cut a nice clean bevel. Oh it is glass LOL Thanks again for looking Stu

You got a great shine on that rhyolite and the snowflake is really nice. I haven't cut any yet, but I like it a lot.

Very nice cabs. I think that Rhyolite has become my favorite type. I've got some in the tumbler, but don't have the means to make cabs yet.

Thanks for all of the feedback. After the doing the cab from hell or should I say that Piranhan agate did me LOL it was a pleasure to work with this material.
As far as that Piranha with the scratches that kept on keepin on I must have ground it down to half it's thickness on the 2nd wheel and those scratches are still their. I am sending the cabb to the defense dept. to use as body armor for the troops. LOL Stu

You have done some beautiful work here! Don't worry about the piranha Having those scratches, it is just little pits all the way through. Polish it up and be done. just the nature of some stones. Fran
