First cab in awhile. Went to Davis Creek with Chris & Al (Hand to Mouth Mining) first of July. They showed me around and I think I got some great obsidian. Not sure what is going on with this cab, to me it looks like microscopic fractures that are causing the flash. Half way trough the rock it showed up. This is the only cab so far. Looks like the flash is spreading out, so the rough may have a few more cabs left in it. Hard to get good pics of it. Also has rainbow color in rest of cab Thanks for lookin Mike

Hey Mike,
Glad your up and cutting again. I must admit I have never seen that before but I suspect you are correct in that it does seem to look like tiny fractures inside the stone.

Looks nice, I've got a few slabs that have that present and was wondering what it is. There is definately some banding going on though. I've cut across and on a 10 degree angle and it presents better in my opinion.
