One day like me, you'll be too old to spend hours hiking over miles of desert or mountains looking for rocks. That's when you'll be thankful for the tonnage you've hauled home. Need a rock to play with ? Just a short walk out to the pile in the back yard.

Unfortunately I started this hobby to late in life so I missed out out on the rock hounding end for the most part
my first cache of rocks were found in the alley not far from where I live about 50 lbs in 1/2 hour some one through the rocks out in the alley slabs, rough, gems great stuff I still find pieces 5 years later
I been pretty careful about buying rocks neighbors are always bringing me rocks the machinery I invested in is considerable for my budget sometime its aggravating --something always breaking but It been a real good time...mostly

Man.yall got it bad.I realized a while back that I've got more than I need.Whats the use of getting more.Sometimes enough is enough.I did happen to go "hounding"with Curt, texaswoodie a couple weekends ago and picked up a "few" more!

Well I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm in the beginning stages of this disease. Now the more I look around in corners and behind my shed, at my parents house in the tool shed, under my son's night stand.... I could go on. I've had this "problem" for some time it was just misunderstood. I keep telling the wife and the post lady no more rock but then somebody puts up a "box". At least I can tell her that I don't play golf or stop off at the bar on the way home etc... Just let me have my rocks and we're fine.

Well I myself collected rocks for years and eventually moved and threw most(almost all) my rocks out. Even the ones I tumbled as a kid. I now kick myself for it. It just ain't right what I did. I have only a few geodes and a huge chunk of fluorite left. I been to the river and only find very small pebbles and muscles. Don't know where else to look around here. See it is a dilemma cause I have rocks in my blood big time now. Makes me want to move again. lol I'm sure I can find a club somewhere close and they'll know where to find good rocks, but the wait is killing me. Does the wait ever get easier?

Well, as we say at the pit ... HUH??? What's that? Oh, I ALWAYS have a colloquial saying for EVERYTHING?!? But, of course I do! :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: Anyways ...
Here goes!!! "The only reason that miners sell their pretty rocks is ..." (Wait for it!)"So they can mine MORE rocks!!!" Hmmmmm ... They seated the crickets in the back row tonight, eh?"What's that??? The tickets should have been cheaper, since I only need a midget drummer? ... " Keep laughing, friends! Kris "Thanks, I'll be here all week ... " - C. Manson "When the going gets weird, the weird turn Pro!!!" - Dr. H. S. Thompson
