Hi, slab enthusiasts! This one's been in my sweethearts table display for awhile ... It's a lovely example of a pattern that we call "Stormy Shores", from the Panoche Hills here in Fresno County. It occurs in various materials, from jasp-agate to jadeite, and is a subduction metamorphosed sedimentary material. Still have to identify this boulder with a SG test, but the Mohs hardness is 7+. This end slab was bossy, and demanded that I immediately take it over and polish it! :cheesy: Using the dry sanding method as taught by Bobby1, it had a nice glow in just a few minutes. Taking it home to show my sweetheart, she grabbed it and said "MINE!!!" So, one of these days I'll sneak it out, get the left over saw marks and such sanded out, and polish it for her. The rest of this boulder is waiting patiently to be slabbed and polished. I LOVE this stuff! Thanks for watching! Kris
