Charoite Gem Silica (so they tell me) Obsidian, and I love the curve. Lapis (top rough) Same Lapis (cut side) I have been told this is Oolite, but I call it Fossil Salmon Eggs. Same piece (cut side) Should cab cool. Thanks for looking. TallPaul

Awesome examples! Not sure but by the look of the photos, that lapis looks to be blue quartz. Like I said, could be the photo but the cut side doesn't look like the grain of Lapis to me. Quartz can often have flecks of mica in it as well and gives the appearance of Lapis. The true test is how it smells when you are cutting it. if it smells like sulfur, it is lapis (sodalite also smells of sulfur) That chariot looks fantastic! I have never worked any myself but am told it can be a little difficult because of the undercutting. Well worth the effort though. The color is fantastic!
