Hi All, I have a lortone ls12 saw that I picked up used a year and a half ago, and the blade was fairly used when I got it, and even more beat up by all my use since I got it. Does anyone have suggestions for replacement blades for this saw? I was looking at the generic kingley north blades and was wondering if anyone has any experience with those blades? www.kingsleynorth.com/skshop/product.php?id=92323&catID=113 I know people recommend the mk-303, but does it really cut that much better, or last 5x longer than the kingley blades considering I can get 5 of the 12" kingsley blades for $15 less than 1 mk-303 blade? I use plain old mineral oil in my saw for coolent. Thanks, Jon

I use the Kingsley blades on my 10" and my 12". No problems. Have used all kinds of blades and have decided to go with the cheapest as they seem to work 'almost' as long as a high dollar one. Even have used the Chinese ones to good effect. Ken

The kingsley did not work so well on my LS12. I tried a MK 301 and MK 225, and settled on the MK 301.
something is wrong with you prices though.
The MK 301 12" can be had for $170 or less, so you can only get about 3 of the house brand.
anyway, they also have a sintered house brand you might consider.

I was going off the fact that if you buy 3 or more of the Kingsley blades, you can get them for $35 a piece, so 5 blades would be $175. So if those Kingsley blades I linked above are comparable in type to the Mk-301, then that's 5 of those for $5 more than a single Mk-301 for $170. Maybe they won't last quite as long as a high end blade, but its a lot less down the drain if I accidentally dish my blade. But, this is my first experience replacing the blade and I honestly have no idea what type of blade is currently in the saw, thus why I'm asking for opinions. Thanks, Jon

The carriage on my Lortone 12 flops like crazy if I pick up on it and I still get super smooth cuts with the cheap plades. I do not do a lot of cutting so it is hard to tell but the cheap blade has been cutting for a long time. Jim

I don't think the "professional" are the same. but, I never have gotten that straight.
