Brian and Mel-those are great palm.Texas has sure got the palm.And that stuff Carlos posted.Strange,Pet Palm is the state stone of Louisiana.And can be nicely silicified there.And it rarely silicifies in Florida dang it.And as you move east into Mississipi,then Alabama it is chalky and better off left on the ground. Tall sabal palms covered the most of the Rio Grande Valley when the spanish arrived there.Now it is scrub and mesquite or rock.And do not drive off the beaten path.I had 4 flat tires by the 3rd day there.100's of cactus and other spines ruined my tires-stay on the gravel.
