Happy days!!!! ura12 ura12 ura12 Got a package from Christopher today. Bought some FA's but Christopher stuffed the box with all sorts of goodies to try out. Recognize the upper row with the wood, limbcast, rutile quartz, tiger iron. But the other 6 are quite a mystery. dunno28 In particular, I wonder about the two on the left And showing off the rutile. I have never seen that stuff in such clear material. Will definitively have to buy more of that stuff next time for carving attempts. But by the end of the day, this parcel was about Fire Agate. Some jumbo Mexicans. The one on the right does not need water or sunlighyt to show color. It will be just a matter of peeling away colors to get to a color that I like. And even better, I got the chance to work with material from a new location. Christopher has been able to stake a claim for Fire Agate recently and as far as informed today, it will be called THE JEBEREDHIAH. I choose two pieces for their wild appearance and the chance of being one of the first to work it. Last but not least, love at first sight for it strange appearance. Fire or not, I had to have that one. Have not seen yet any fire, but that does not mean there isn't some hiding somewhere. In any case, that one is reserved for a proper carving project. Again, thank you so much, there are lots of potentials here. Now its up to me to realize that potential. Best regards, Kurt

Man, that last one looks already pre carved. Plainly a dude with a turban. Can't wait to see what you do with it.....mel

Yep, the scepter does look like its formed already. Will keep that one for a while, and explore the other piece first to see what to expect under those bubbles before cutting into that one. It will possibly be one of the summer-projects. For now, the existing shape reminds me of either a person sitting there with a funny hat/turban on, or a child in long gown.

There is usually good fire under the white caps. Hope this one has good fire. Woody

It reminded me of that old photo of a Mexican with a big sombredo setting next to a cactus. All you need is the cactus and a burro....lol
