At the suggestion of some members of this forum, I've decided to try to auction off a few of my slabs. I've picked the following at random from my inventory. I slabbed and polished (one side only) all of them myself, originally solely for my benefit. Now I've got WAAAYYY too many and I was going to try eBay but others suggested I try here first. I've never sold before so if I'm violating some process or rule, please advise me. Also, my pictures may not be the best, so I'm always open to suggestions here as well. They were taken outside in shaded sunlight. I'll put them up as a lot, SFRB, for auction beginning now through 9am (CST) 28 Jun, no starting price, buyer to pay for bid and shipping, PayPal preferred, US only please. Please bid in response to this post, not PM. If you have any questions, please ask. Group shot of five slabs in lot, Chinese dendritic jasper, 5"L x 2 1/4"W x 1/4" Chihuahua jasper, 5"L x 4 3/4"W x 1/4" Utah lace, 3 1/4"L x 2 9/16"W x 3/16" Agatized petrified wood, 3 1/2"L x 2 3/4"W x 1/4" URL=http://s1154.photobucket.com/user/abbygolden/media/slabsale1RTH002_zpsf9a126e5.jpg.html] [/URL] Picasso marble, 4"L x 2 3/4"W x 1/4

Sheltie, maybe you should take a pix of each one with a ruler in it... it's hard to tell size/thickness by the photos.
Also, you should start with a base price, like $1 or $2 a slab, and maybe let people pick slabs over a week to save packing time and shipping for both of you.
I'll certainly help if I see slabs I don't have, but I've got most of the more often seen ones already and are now only looking for unusual rock types. Hope you sell lots:)!!

I had a brain fart! One of the first questions I always want answered is the size. I've gone back and inserted the dimensions and in the future will take a picture of them with vertical and horizontal rulers. As to the starting price, I just figured that on this forum people will bid what they feel is right and rebid based on their wants/needs. I wouldn't do this on eBay. Also, I did mention that the auction is open for one week. Should I have put it a different way? This is an experiment so hopefully I will learn from this for the future.

So will they fit a SFRB? They're about 8 1/2 x 5 x 1 1/2. All in one auction?

So will they fit a SFRB? They're about 8 1/2 x 5 x 1 1/2. All in one auction? Yes, they will all fit in a SFRB (I just checked). I was originally thinking of doing each one individually, but if it would be easier for a prospective buyer, I'll do an all in one. Yours is the only question I've had about it so far, however. So I guess it's up to me to make the rules. For this time, it will be all five of them rather than individually. I make the change in my original post.

Daniel,
Thanks for all your suggestions, I've tried to incorporate them in my modified post. I didn't understand your reference to img but will study it and figure it out.
Also, thanks for catching my mis-ID. That is indeed Picasso marble not dumatierite. I had them in bags that were next to each other and simply remembered the wrong label when posting.

sheltie! Awesome to see you posting here! I am sad to say I am not a buyer this time, but love that you are giving it a shot. Helen & Daniel gave excellent advice. Follow their lead and make a few bux. Buy more rox! Xcellent!
