great trip, but that first pet wood pic looks like volcanic welded tuff to me. is that calcite silver lace onyx?

Well the banded material is VERY hard for what it's worth. I practically broke the tip of my newly sharpened buck knife trying to scratch it.

I kept cutting on that same piece and the middle got very interesting. As I continued to cut most of the stick looking thingies (sorry I don't know what to call them) disappeared but the clear center continued on.

looks like you found a seam agate of some sort. No clue what the stick thingies are!!?!?!?!
