Nice story. I paid for my home on dragons. Jacksons babies rarely if ever grow to adulthood. They dehydrate too easily and we like our homes dry. Fix that problem and there are many others. Nice girlfriend that likes geckos. Too bad it didn't work out! This is what a current gecko gurl looks like www.thegeckogirls.com/lol

With the hive we had I just waited till it was cool in the evening and filled the nest hole with foam wasp killer. Next morning no hornets, live ones anyway. Wish I woulda known to leave the nest there.

Oh boy, bald faced hornets. Those puppies pack a punch. When they sting it feels like getting hit by a 2 x 4 and when the venom starts to wear off, man they itch. Do not provoke them and they are actually pretty easy to provoke too. My dad got into those once deer hunting and got the living daylights stung out of him. I've only been stung once and it was right on a par with our giant red paper wasps. No fun at all....Mel The Schmidt Sting Pain Index (yes, this is a real thing, Mr. Schmidt apparently has a masochistic streak) puts them at a 2.0 out of 4.0. He describes the sting as "rich and hearty, slightly crunchy; similar to getting your hand mashed in a revolving door". Many of the sting descriptions are oddly poetic. On a separate note, I have a phobia of stinging things. So if that were in my tree, I'd be helping Rob run the wires for the detonator.

Well saturday night a raccoon took the nest down. The nest was getting pretty dang big too. This morning at 3:30 am I heard something on the bedroom screen. A small raccoon was leaning up on the screen looking in. I sat and watched this little sucker and was 6" from it, right in front of it. I guess they cant see through the black screen. I could hear it sniffing. Thats how close to it I was. Face to face. It was pretty entertaining but I wasnt too happy about the nest. I wanted that thing, bad.
