Never hounded Washington so I don't know if this will help. cash-and-treasures-wiki.travelchannel.com/page/Washington. Also, there's a big wind farm going in, in extreme south eastern Washington. A rockhound buddy has been hauling loads of material to the site, and has found some beautiful material in that area. He doesn't come on the forum often, but you could try contacting montanamadman (Bob). He could give you all kinds of info.

I just tried to find him. Last time I talked to him on the phone he told me that his account had been hacked. He may have cancelled his account. I'll call him this evening and see if I can get his new email data. He's a heavy haul trucker who is sometimes hard to get hold of.

Any suggestions for this fall Thank you The Tri-City area is a hot spot for agates...It was a glacier hot spot years ago and pushed alot of agates into that area from the waters...My buddies hunt the river areas, where the new housing is going up and some points further out...Good luck..(Try all the gravel beds there too)

Thank you so much. I am in Othello and take Rd 68 which is the back way into tri cities. I don't know what areas are private I know I can get to the river at ringold but don't know any other rds to the river. I'm so afraid to be on Hanford property. Excited that agates are so close. )))

Tried calling Bob a while ago, but couldn't get him. He may be holed up in the mountains for the night, somewhere where he can't get cell signals. I'll try again tomorrow.

Nearby to you is Saddle Mountain for pet wood, common opal at George in the diatomaeceous earth pits. In the Columbia river agate, jasper, pet wood on the gravel bars, especially on the islands. Woody

I don't have a vehicle at the moment, which makes things rather difficult, but if nothing else, would be happy to make new friends who share the same passion for rocks I've found that a lot of people don't wish to share information with "newbees" on here, which can be frustrating because this is simply a hobby and passion for me--I'm not trying to make ANY kind of profit or commercialize any part of this hobby. Anyway, feel free to message me Cheers!

apesandmonkeys there is good reason for the old timers to keep their hard earned localities proprietary. Sometimes when they share, soon after, the spots get cleaned out, fast. Nobody is accusing you of this, but the fact it happens makes them gun shy. I have been quite active here for three years and am now having folks share. This is common in every form of hunting. Nonetheless, there are "famous" spots your local Washingtonians will share with you. Perhaps hit the library and seek the Washington copy of . There are many various and famous spots for you to check out. Stuff for many genre of the hibby. Crystals, cutting materials, mineral specimens wil all be represented. Good luck and best wishes. Also good luck finding a vehicle.
