OK folks, just watch, our dumbsh*t prez is going to get us into another expensive war, again without congressional approval ( Like Libya, an impeachable offense). He's gonna get into it with Syria, again costing taxpayers tons of money to fight battles for folks where both sides hate our guts. It's an internal matter, let them settle it on their own as its just enemies killing enemies, a win win situation for us. I don't think we have any business getting into other folk's civil wars, especially when our relationship with Russia is so bad and they are allies with the other side. I say let the freaking UN deal with it. That's supposed to be their job anyway......Mel

I take no pleasure in seeing Obama in a similar situation to the administration he and his party reviled for their decisions. I have seen videos of people dying, twisting with convulsions. I saw a video of two dogs and a cat struggling their last in a street. (Why did that bother me even more than the people?) I saw videos of hundreds of people lying in rows, many children, and women. No creature should suffer such an end.
It makes me feel like I did when I saw the atrocities that Saddam and his sons commit. It makes me wish I did not have to change my previously held world views ( Topple murderous tyrants) to the currently most widely accepted one. Thing is, a few bombs will not end this. Both sides of this conflict are our enemies, some say good, let them kill each other off! Seems they all hate us later anyway. Sounds pretty good until one sees the women and children laid out in rows. . . Obama is in a tough spot right now, probably shouldn't have given that "Red Line" speech last year. . .
We really can't afford another war, Europe has more to lose than us over this. I agree, the French and English should take the lead, as we already are leading from behind. If there is war in Syria, gas is gonna go up big-time. The Russians have indicated that they have no interest in getting involved in this, and they also say to wait for the U.N. to act. Probably would be the best plan, considering.

"Can't afford it" is really a moot point being the US is so far in debt it is mathematically impossible to ever pay back. As long as dollars are spending and we have the printing machine we can blow up anyone we want.
Basically I call it the Global Gobble Operation. Also some old playbook of bombing your way out of a depression. Which I think it is only disguised get rid of gov't assistance and you'd find out.
All this crap has nothing to do with spreading democracy that's the biggest BS story of them all. Only problem nowadays is everyone has these pesky little problems known as nukes I think the elite are running around trying to figure out how not to get blown up themselves.
I really think the insanity levels and greed have reached the point that if only a dozen ultra class were in a bomb shelter each sitting on a pile of gold while the planet was totally destroyed topside that everyone of them would spend their last days trying to figure out how to steal the other guy's gold.
I'd say God help us all but looking thru most of history sitting around and praying is pretty much a waste of time. I admit now would be a really cool time to have Jesus come back and start shooting some lightning bolts up these bastards asses.

Sounds like an even bigger losing proposition than Iraq. Our insistence on jumping into the middle of Iraq is what got all the WMD's moved to Syria in the first place. So now we help to get them moved into the hands of alquaida backed rebels? Sounds like something right out of the playbook of the most incompetent administration in the history of our nation.

prez = commander in chief. At least we won't hear "can't be his fault, congress makes the laws".
Wait, doesn't the constitution require congressional approval for going to war? The supreme ruler don't think so.

Obama "We can't get UN authority so let's do it anyway we don't have to listen to them".
Obama "I just signed the UN gun treaty now we have to take your guns and have no choice".
Effing hypocrite.
And btw i'm reading officials just told CNN that the US could attack within hours. Might be filling my gas cans again in the am. Tired of this crap.

The supreme ruler don't think so. I'm pretty sure they done away with all such formalities after 9-11 even though you don't get to see the 'new' playbook. I don't blame this all on Obama I really believe in all the 20+ year plan for all of this it's hard telling how screwed up it's going to get. Someone other than Obama is making these plans he's just the yes-sir jackass in front of the camera. It's like a relay race with these morons, Bush handed it off to KingObama, no need to declare a dictatorship as our pre-selected choices for the next dipshit are all on the same page.

How silly. Lobbing a few missiles to protect victims of chemical warfare is not 'war'. WAR is mobilization of troops to find and die in a hand to hand conflict. No one proposed sending troops to Syria.
Incredible that the same people who backed 2 full blown wars are now complaining about a few missiles. It's encouraging to see that war is upsetting to you however. Very unRepublican attitude:).

Oh sure Helen, some country lobbing a few missiles into south Florida wouldn't be an act of war huh? *L* You just made up that definition to suit your argument. War is defined basically as an armed conflict declared or otherwise. I think the hand to hand conflict went out with swords and spears *L*.
Yeah what's a few billion dollars worth of missiles which will kill a few thousand more folks on both sides who hate us. And oh yeah, odd how you're for it now yet you were against Bush's Iraq war where Saddam was gassing the Kurds before he transferred the WMD's to Syria where they are being used now. Again, let our enemies fight it out themselves. We don't need and cannot afford more intrusion into other countries sh*tstorms......Mel

1,000 U.S. troops already sitting in Jordan Helen. Right next door to Syria. Obama agreed to leave them there to " Help protect our interests in Jordan". And what is it now, 4 War ships sitting right off Syria's coast, with an aircraft carrier on standby ?
This independent says rain down daisy cutters on Assad's troops. Make hamburger out of them.

We don't need and cannot afford more intrusion into other countries sh*tstorms......Mel One must fully consider the ability to retaliate and the ability to win, before engaging in war. What's Syria going to do to us in the middle of their civil war? Hand to hand as in troops on the ground, as in Afghanistan and Iraq, we've had a few wars since the swords and spears of the Crusades. As for being worried about muslims hating us, we might have thought about that before Iraq and Afghanistan, but we didn't. Can't put spilled milk back in the bottle. As for gassing kurds under George Sr, I was a Republican then, and I was absolutely all for his no fly zone to protect the Kurds (US troops on the ground just sending in the airforce), AND the WAY he conducted his war, which was with an entire international coalition first - because he made the non-troop contributing Japanese and Germans PAY FOR THE GULF WAR. Further, he was smart enough NOT to imbalance the entire middle east by stopping at Baghdad. He could have taken out Saddam then, but he did not. George Bush Sr was a good President. George Bush Jr was an idiot. Who could have imagined that the apple not only rolled far away from the tree, but floated down the river. No one is suggesting troops for this conflict. Just some missile training exercises off of Syria's coast. We have too many missiles anyway, need to get rid of some.

You need to be restricted to toy soldiers with materials and size restrictions set at plastic and 3 inch height (General) Helen.

It is impossible for her to win logical arguments. Se has to at least get her definitions straightened out. These are just over 2 inches
