That's what I heard too, that there wouldn't be any cell phone coverage there. What a bummer eh? I'm sure hoping that Stoner takes lots of pics.

Looks like rain and 61 f for the high in Marfa. I hope they brought raincoats. I seem to have better luck rockhounding in a light rain. I seem to miss a few when they are dry and I can't see the nice shine. I just never collected all day and had to go home to a tent to dry off. That makes it a little tricky.

Rain down here means quick flash floods. We just had a storm move through this morning, raising street levels to just below the cars frames. I hope their not experiencing what we have this morning!

Oh, it goes away as quickly as it comes. Give it an hour or so and it all soaks into the ground. We's thirsty out here. We don't complain about wetness in any of it's forms, we're just grateful for every drop. It rained a good hour pretty heavy, with wind and hail and spectacular lightening. The locals all holed up in their homes, and I sat on my porch and enjoyed the show.

I hope they aren't getting any long term rain but if it's not cold, rockhunting in the rain is ok, I've done it plenty of times too. Garbage bags make great ponchos. ;D

I remember rain. It's that wet stuff that falls from the sky isn't it.
Queensland is in the middle of its worst drought for over 100 years. Our city's supply dams are nearly down to below 20%. We have very strict water restrictions and huge fines for breaking them. No filling swimming pools, only watering gardens 2 days a week between 4am and 8am (no hoses, buckets only), no washing cars, boats or caravans, 4 minutes showers.
Yeah, we'll take any rain that falls. Every time it rains my 2 kids go nuts and run around outside. Mid you when it does rain, it never lands in the dam catchment areas anyway.
Not that any of this has anything to do with the guys and girls down on the ranch!

I sure hope they are having lots of good luck finding the agates and other stuff the ranch is famous for. The woodwards are lucky to get to meet some of the nicest people around, I'll bet they'll be talking about RTH for a long time to come.
