Hello George. Welcome to RTH! You will find good information on your saw building project here. I have purchased rock from George on Ebay and am pleased with the quality. Be sure and post pictures as the saw project progresses. Now I need to go count my money and see if I can be the owner of the Charoite!

George that looks like some really nice material. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that if I had a couple hundred dollars to spend I'd be all over that but I think things are tight everywhere and I have a mountain of rock I need to move already.
Good luck getting money for a saw, I'm trying to get some for a new blade myself.

George,
I was unfamiliar with charoite when I initially saw your thread and curiosity overtook me. I did a little online nosing about and I am stunned by its absolute beauty and the fact that it was only fairly recently identified (1978). It's also amazing that it seems to occur in only that one, exclusive place in Russia. Your particular "brick" of charoite appears to be as fine and gorgeous a specimen as can be had!
I wish you the best of luck in selling your piece and on your saw-building project!

George,
Damn! That single source site really is "the middle of nowhere". It just makes this gorgeous stone/mineral that much more special. How did you come to obtain your specimen?
I also see that on your E-bay "sub-site" you have some other very nice rock and/or mineral specimens for sale from Hungary and Romania, as well as a couple of useful diamond grinding wheels. I encourage others to take a look at your E-bay "sub-site" as well.
