Today we went to Lake Pleasant to look for plume agates. We started in a hole that needed to be redug deeper to see if we could find some more of the good stuff that came out of there before. Rodney in the hole While we were there a group of Burros came by to visit so I tried to get close to get some pics When I got too close they started heading the other way We dug for a few hours and found a few pieces but not what we were looking for so we decided to move to another spot and look for a different kind of plume. We were hiking to a place where there is known plume and stumbled upon these veins and blubs of agate in host rock. Some are thin veins but with great patterns Rodney is working on freeing up some pieces This is a whole nodule stuck in the rock Heating up some chili for lunch (one of the cans almost exploded, it was domed on both ends) Cool drusy on this one We saw the burros again on the way home When we got home the first piece to go on the saw came out great! A quick cab of a piece of this shows that it takes a good shine. Some more slices of what we found today Was a great day, my ears are ringing from banging on a chisel all day, but I had a blast! Thanks Rodney! Tony
