I just ran across this ad for an awesome looking estate tag sale in Michigan for May 8th, 9th, and 10th. I wish it wasn't too far for me to drive! The jewelry making equipment looks pristine! If they price this stuff reasonable the casting equipment would be great to have! I am in no way connected to the seller. Just passing the info along to anyone on this site who may be up in that area that might want to check it out. estatesales.org/warren-mi-estate-sales/warren-packed-estate-sale-378080Larry C.

Ran across that one too. How early does one need to get in line to part of the first group?

David, Probably would be better off calling or emailing the repurposeshop to ask that question. Some estate sellers won't let people on the property until a certain time while others will let them show up before dawn to get in line. The vacuum casting system and automatic melting furnace shown in the photos don't look like they have hardly (if ever) been used. Those make doing castings a whole lot easier than a torch and a centrifugal caster. Also looks like there is a steam cleaner and steam dewaxer in the photos too. If you make it up their good luck! And let us know how it turns out? Larry C.

I have an appt. to look at this stuff next Thursday. My guess is that it will all be overpriced just due to the great condition its all in. I'll report back after I go.

Chuck, Let me know if you buy everything. I was hoping to go but I'm flying out in a few hours. Let me know what it looks like if you don't buy the stuff I might stop by on Saturday when I get back. If I get back in time. I hate red eyes.

Chuck Hey Chuck, Did you make it to the Estate sale? Just curious how things went? Larry C. I got a great deal on a brand new lortone tumbler that came with a 12 pound barrel and 2 six pound barrels. Surprisingly for a place with so much lapidary equipment there was not very much rock. I think I got all the decent rocks that were there and it was around 50 pounds. The only reason I got those before anyone else was that they were in a wooden barrel with a lid and nobody else had seen them. The sale was by appt. only and my appt. was 2 hrs after the sale started. In that amount of time all of the equipment had sold. It was all still there being disassembled when I got there which made it even worse because I was able to see that all the equipment looked brand new. The slab saw was around 16" and had never had oil in it yet. It was built extremely well and even had an external oil tank and filter that pumped clean oil right to the blade. I actually knew the guy that snagged that. He gave $800 for it. There were two beautiful cast aluminum flat laps (gemlap brand) that came with the motors and diamond plates and someone stole those for $70 each. Prices were not "rock" bottom but this was not your usual sale where most things are 30 years old and used/abused. I'll try to post pictures of what I got this weekend since I need I.D. on a few of the rocks. The highlight of the rocks I picked up were 9 good size lakers. The 9 together weighed 2 lbs 4 ounces. All in all it was still worth going to. Chuck

Chuck, I'm glad to read that you got some good deals! Was the casting equipment already sold when you got there? Larry C.
