I've bought and traded with several members, but I've never tried to sell. I don't post very often, but I am one of the oldest members by joining time. Here's the story. I have about 800 pounds of nothing special obsidian. I collected it before I knew what I was doing -- have to admit I still don't most of the time. A couple of summers ago I had a picnic at my house for the rock club. I told them they could take all the obsidian they wanted. Their reaction was to add another 100 or so lbs to my pile. Oregon has lots of obsidian. I mostly use this obsidian to sharpen my saws and make slabs to give away to friends. Sometimes I chop up chunks for tumbler food. I decided to offer some up here. Two options: Straight sale: A medium flat rate box filled with a random selection from the pile - 20 lbs or so. The pieces range in size from baby fist to adult fist size. Most is straight black, some has streaks of mahogany. Some whole nodules, some broken nodules. I'm calling it nothing special obsidian. There is some silver sheen, rainbow, aurora, and other sought after varieties in the pile, but your chances of getting some is remote and my chances of recognizing it is even more remote. I cut a sphere with a large piece from the pile and it was incredible silver sheen - which didn't show up until fine sanding stage. COST with shipping included $35. Trade: Medium flat rate box for medium flat rate box of your local material. NOTE: I'm a sphere maker so all pieces large enough to sphere have already been set aside and are not available. NOTE 2: I can only ship on weekends when it is not raining.

nice to meet another sphere maker. At least I was, and plan to be again. Life gets in the way! I know exactly what you mean. Due to constraints of my job I can only make spheres for about 2 months out of the year. Hate it when the job gets in the way of the hobby.
