Just saw what looks like a good deal on Eastern CT Craigslist. A Diamond Pacific Genie outfit plus an older trim saw for $550. I'm in no way connected to the seller. Just thought if there are any other East Coasters here on the RTH list that might be in the CT area anytime soon it might be worth their time to check it out. newlondon.craigslist.org/for/4514122154.htmlLarry C.

I picked it up yesterday. Wheels are crap but it is still a super deal. Bought it from a gentleman where I had previously purchased an old trim saw plus one wheel machine and a old lap.
The trim saw, very basic but I will be able to onsell (I hope). Got even a better deal last week, a 10" trim saw with auto feed, a 14" ROCK'S slab saw with weight feed, a 6" older style trim saw (cute little bugger), a Graves faceting machine (Mark I without a head), a old ROCK'S grinder setup, on a 7' x 4' wooden work bench, plus other odds and ends all for about the same amount. Now I have 2 problems, Firstly I no longer have that excuse of "I have no equipment" and secondly, I actually have to sell some of my equipment. As well, now I have to paint that house next door in order to pay for it all. HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very glad to learn that someone on the list was able to get it! If it has set for a while you'll probably have to oil the leather gasket in the air pump for it to work right but that isn't too difficult. Also sounds like you're about ready to get a complete shop up and running! As for having too much equipment I've always been of the opinion that one can never have too much equipment - just not enough shop space . Larry C.

You're right there, about the space. Trying my hardest to clear out space in both the garage and the basement. Phase I of my lapidary hobby has just about run its course, I have tumbled my millioneth rock, time to get onto some more interesting and challenging stuff. Been nurtured by Connrock. He has been a VERY big help. In the last two weeks have purchased via Craigslist the following:- a ROCKS grinding outfit, only had one sc wheel and an expandable drum, water system missing 10" trim saw but the bearing sits above the table 2 small basic trim saws a 10" slab saw with auto feed a 14" ROCKS saw with weight feed 12" vibrating lap the Graves faceting machine, and since the seller called me on Thursday, got the head, and all the polishing attachments, whose use I still have to find out a Sears tumbler probably a 3 pounder A dremel on a stand (interesting enough, the stand goes up, instead of the drill going down) This was on top of my Frantom bought three years ago, a cab preformer bought 6 months ago, the usual Thumler tumblers and vibes. Apart from the new Thumlers, just about everything else, being old and preloved, needed lost of care and repairs, which thankfully I am able to do, and willingly.
My best "buy" was finding RTH and Connrock. And, since I bought a box of tumbling rocks from a lady near Boston, found another RTHer, because she was Sitandwrap. So all you RTHers, take a bow, I love this site and all the information that can be obtained from it.

Thanks for the advice Larry, I will get onto it soon. I actually had the genie home before I even saw your original posting, I do a lapidary search everyday. I have so much gear now that I have to learn how to operate, am just having fun thinking about it. Just spent a couple of days in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, about the only rocks I saw were granites, mica schist and basalt. Didn't think any was worth taking home. Donnie, I have no excuse now.
