Dave, your black opal pic isn't showing up. I did click on your link, however, and saw the opals there. But, as usual, I was distracted by the carnivorous plants on the link from that page .
A variety, nay, a Smorgesboard of pitcher plants from all over. Take a look! Not much said about any of them (limit on words), but great pics, nonetheless!
This fanged pitcher plant, Nepenthes bicalcarata, is uber cool!

Dave, your black opal pic isn't showing up. I have no idea where it was stored, but I saved it to my computer and uploaded it to photobucket. Can you see it this time? @shotgunner, did you notice the bottom gray layer, then gray fire, then gray, then the wide black with fantastic fire? This seam had multiple fillings!

After working on Pinterest for several days I find good points and bad. On the good side, it is very easy to pin stuff from your computer or the net. On the bad, it is tough to explain complex ideas as they only allow up to 500 characters per pin. Once pinned, you can't easily move them around to group like things. First things go to the bottom of the pile. Perhaps you could organize everything somewhere else, then start pinning last things first and work to the top . . . Yep that 500 character thing makes it like twitter. With twitter I believe the first syllable explains everything. #socialidiocy I do like the pics and prefer to not let bimbos handle my spheres, Never know what you'll get...

Yes, I can see it now, thanks! I have a bunch of different bits of opal from a gal in my rock club that passed away. None that big, however.
Need to take an inventory of what I have, maybe post some pics....

I'm starting to get things organized - I just added a new folder on sphere making including your core drill idea.
