Not infrequently, landowners can be softened a bit, or you may be made very welcome, with a gift {bribe} of finished mtl. Take some with you next time. Rarely sell rocks. Do give them away to postman, family mechanic, as gifts, and other trades. Often a trade is better than money. I have had many contractors, service workers and folks express interest in the rock display at the house that have been 'softened' by rock gifts. Landowner idea a great one.

these may just be the coolest pieces you have shown off. I cant remember all that I have seen but these are killer. Looks like I found an easy relaxing spot to find to find some rare stuff this time Brad. About 1 in 20 are killer. So not quantity but unique quality. Suits me. The whole area is a vintage coral collecting area long forgotten about, popular back in the hey day of the lapidary boom.

WOOOOWWWW! Lots of contrasting colors. Clean living may have finally paid off Pat. Had found these as strays in soil roads occasionally in this area for a while. Finally found the river cut through them.

Awesome! Amazing what a few hundred degrees of heat will do to that coral.
Agree with Brad, I think these are about the nicest so far. Be nice to get the landowner's permission for access. Can carry more away in truck than boat.

Thanks Jean. Hope there is plenty to collect. Heating a strange process. Feel like I am cheating but like the mad scientist part.

Florida folks are puzzled when told you are rock hunting Donnie. Get some funny looks of disbelief. Lots of Floridians have no idea rocks are all over Florida. Your Keys are sure solid rock.

radio-Boat is a hassle in some respects. Maybe I can drive down in the little Honda and leave the truck/boat rig at home.
Tela-Looks like iridescent behavior too. These may have some potential.

You guys will score well. The water kinda hides it making it hard to clean out. And there is so much of it.
