How about it, show and tell time! I love green. This is a good time to share pictures of your favorite green rocks... let's see 'em!

ArrowheadDave took this picture of a slab of a rock I sent him. I was surprised it was so green inside because the outside was stained and worn from centuries with glaciers and Lake Huron pounding and grinding it.

Washington translucent jade that I got from Mel. The jade that bit me. Wyoming jade A mix of green stuff that is pretty common here. I like this stuff more than the nephrite I find here. Jim

oh man, next to breccias I love the greens, Wampidy, mrmohs, fossilman, those are great! Jim your last 2 are the same stuff as arrowheaddave's. Is it serpentinite? Dave says it is harder than serpentine. Mike, so many to drool over, what is the 3rd one down? I don't think I've seen that one before! Ed, can't wait to see what's next!

To add some of my favorite greens: A small piece from Crabtree Emerald Mine in North Carolina And a cab of pink sapphire in smaragdite from Chunky Gal Mountain in NC And this is only barely greenish or should I say beryley green. Ray Mine, NC

St Paddy's day museum of green! gingerkid, jakesrocks, what great collections (thanks for NOT showing that lugie, Don), mr-mohs beautiful heart-box, how did I miss that post the first time? fantastic5 Ann, those are outstanding. The word smargadite pleases me to read and say (every bit as much as saying "Buckyball Fullerenes") and the material itself is fascinating. Love the emeralds and the beryl! (lol beryley green) better early than too late on St Patricks day greetings. Ditto Mike, more please!

This is my weekend heart project a touch of green under water That's copper in some sort of greenishish soft matrix I think w/polishing lots of other shading will come forth I see some purple in the matrix so I hope that shines forth The other heart looks like bloodstone but I'm fairly certain its not but its is an agate I'll be able to join these halves tomorrow still lots of grinding to be done So won't be able to finish them off for St/ Paddy day but I have some other nice green hearts in stock

I have a piece like that that I need to cut.. not sure what it holds but its heavy.
