Thanks for resurrecting this old thread. Not too often you see Hayden Hill mentioned. Did you make it up there and if so how did you do?

I've been up there once and didn't find much of anything useful - I know there is decent lapidary grade material there but all I found was lots and lots of colorful sandstone.

We ended up hitting Lake Berryessa instead, and came home with quite a load of beautiful brecciated material. Might try to do a rhyolite/obsidian tour at the end of October though, hitting Lassen, Hayden Hill, then Fallon Nevada if I can. Always looking for advice when hitting new spots.
