During my week long vacation up on Drummond Island for the 4th Rob ( Jugglerguy) paid us a visit for a day of checking out some sights and we even did a little rock hounding. We started off by using the kayaks to check out a couple shorelines. The hounding on the shores is pretty picked over (mostly by members of my family) but we still found one nice landscape boulder. I am guessing that one weighed about 80-100 pounds and since Rob picked the larger kayak he had the chore of paddling back with it in the cockpit. I also took him to a place in the woods that me and my kids have been getting nice stones from and we found some nice stuff there too. We had beautiful weather and I really enjoyed the visit. We didn't take a camera along but I took these photos afterward. The rock on the right is the one that Rob had to paddle back with. This was smaller stuff (too small to slab) that I busted up to tumble from our outing into the woods. This is the first time I have showed the sorting process after using the sledge hammer. Whole pile right after crushing (about 20 pounds) here it is sorted. stuff on the left goes back to the island to be dumped. and this is the pile of keepers to tumble Chuck

Chuck, you get the real credit for lifting that beast into my kayak. Paddling it back was the easy part.

Man yall have all the fun! We both came back from the woods bleeding due to the terrain but yes still fun. My 10 yr old spotted a nice one on the way out but we didn't have time to dig it up so I am driving him back this weekend to get it. Just a quick 700 mile round trip weekend.
