Came across this on ebay and had to share it here. Its a 10" saw built inside of a plastic tool box. As I was typing this I realized its an RTH member that has not posted here in awhile. home made saw on ebayChuck

I guess it would be portable. Just close the lid, grab the handle, and off you go!

I can't figure out where the motor is at? The last photo in the ebay link shows a small metal frame and motor. I remember Scott well and follow his listings on Ebay too. Chuck

I think the last frame shows the feed motor, blade drive has to be somewhere outside the side of the box.

Yeah, I saw that earlier tonight. Thought it was very clever "inside the box" thinking. Larry C.

I bid on it. I can improve it and make it quite efficient I think. Winter project assuming I end up with it.

I had to fix a saw with a rotisserie motor feed, seems they will randomly run clockwise or cc. I imagine there's a diode, but I just replaced with a gearmotor. Reminds me of the Frankensaw I bought that was built in a HF parts washer tub... New 12" blade and 3/4hp motor, that's why I bought it for $60.00 if I remember right. Also the feed was a stepper motor with a speed control and a nice motor starter that I will use some day. Sometimes I have more fun with the tools than the rocks...
