We have been working an area of Agate Druze in western Madagascar since last winter. This spring, after the rainy season, our first production truckload arrived (15 tons). While processing the usual agate druzy material, a high percentage appears to be Fossil Coral Agates including some with Botryodials. Our clients use druze chalcedony for jewelry, and large specimen display pieces are high-graded out. We had no idea for the last few months that a lot of this material was fossil coral agate..assuming it was just plates of druzy chalcedony and some "gnarly" formations. Thanks jamesp for his inspirational coral tumbles helped point out the oversight/ I was jealous of the material, thinking, wow, if we only had a material like that. Meanwhile it was right in front of our faces. Any thoughts would be appreciated, especially, if there is NO fossil coral agate pictured below (although i cannot see it being anything else) Since we are starting to market the material, wouldn't want to false advertise.
