Hi all Was not sure where to post this? Anyway I finally created an Etsy shop, well I think I did? . I put in two sample listings and it shows Etsy is going to charge me for them, yet I can't find my store? The store is called "SilverOrStone" can someone help me out and see if you can find it. It said the store should propagate right away but may take 24 hours, it has been 30 hours now. Also, do most of you that have shops just accept PayPal? Or do you accept credit cards etc.? I assume Etsy handles all the credit card BS and takes fees? Thanks a ton, Tom

Log into Etsy. Click on the "Your Shop" icon in the upper right of the screen. Select the view shop option from the menu.
I take Paypal and credit card. Etsy handles all the dirty work. Etsy takes about 3% and paypal takes about 3%, so keep that in mind when pricing your merch.

Thanks Don I can find the shop that way but if I just load Etsy and search for SiverOrStone it tells me there is no such thing. I am sure it's just a learning curve issue but frustrating? Thanks again

Now you can sit back and watch the money roll in, ha. Been on there almost three years now. Time sure flies. Best of luck to you.

My opinion is that Etsy is far better for selling finished goods then Ebay. My biggest hang up at first was pricing. I think I have that figured out pretty good now though. There are a whole bunch of websites that list ways to increase sales and ways to make your shop stand out.
here's a few quick tips 1)clean layout. (all pictures in similar setting or backdrop) 2)best photos possible (I always try to include a side shot of cabs and wraps to show the girdle line and thickness) 3)item description (this is my worst area. I would rather spend my time working on rocks then typing long item descriptions) 4)proper price point 5)communication with the customer

I was typing in your site name today on Etsy and thought to myself you could have even called it "SilverOreStone" for a play on words.

Thanks Chuck,
I have set up for CC payments now. I will take all the tips anyone has to offer. I, like you would much rather just work in the shop and let someone else to the shop thing. Trying to talk wife into doing the descriptions.
Thanks
Again

Trying to talk wife into doing the descriptions. Thanks Again My son set up my etsy and facebook sites and he did all the updates, descriptions and photos for a couple years but now he is 15 yrs old and has a real job so I am doing my best to keep them updated my yearly sales are usually right around 1/3 from shows, 1/3 from personal word of mouth sales and 1/3 from etsy. Selling was never really a goal but my wife dont need 200 pendents and it gets hard to display hundreds of pounds of tumbles. The nice part is not having to take any money from the household budget to cover rock expenses anymore. Chuck
