Glad you took that the right way! Too funny. Was it found anywhere near where you find copper? Do you have a gut feeling for what it could be? Texture,looks like rhyolite.

Do you have a gut feeling for what it could be? Texture,looks like rhyolite. I did find a few pieces of turquoise in the area. It is a little crumbly around the edges and I got a density of the mix of minerals of 2.8. Putting in HCl showed a small amount of carbonate and did not change any of the colors. I did start to polish one of the small pieces that broke off and it turns to a bluish-gray. So the green must be an oxidized surface coating. Still no idea what it is. Have several pieces. That one was the largest at 50 pounds.

Interesting! Did the HCl take on a color while reacting? Copper chloride is very bright colored.
