Who could blame you! The choices on both sides are not inspiring.

I have felt the same way about voting. But, because I believe that I should vote, I have voted for the Constitutionalist party on a few occasions as a protest vote.

I had to dig back a bit to find this topic I had started back in October, before the primaries got underway. With the Repubs shutting out the voters in Colorado, I think I found another point I could add to my list. Shutting out voters?? Do tell. There was no shut out of voters. Trump didn't pay attention to the rules and has no one to blame but himself. That won't stop him from sniveling that they hurt his feelers.

1dave, don't misunderstand my point. I could care less that Cruz knew how to game the system and Trump didn't. The issue is that the Repub party did not know or care what the will of the voters may have been. With rules THEY established, the party legally gamed the system to minimize/eliminate the supposedly sacred vote.

If you don't vote, you have no right to complain. My Mom used to get really bent out of shape about Ronald Reagan, but she hadn't voted since Johnson. then she would REALLY get bent out of shape when I would tell her "no votie, no bitchie!"

mikeinsjc No you and Trump misunderstood these points. Why are you just complaining about Colorado? Why not bitch at the way these other 39 states select their delegates? Trump knew or should have known the way the system works. Trump had no ground game. He relied on the media morning talk shows for his ground game. For such a "smart businessman" he sure made a rookie mistake. Selected at state or local conventions (55 percent of delegates). The majority of delegates, as I mentioned, are chosen through a series of state and local conventions or caucuses. This is grass-roots democracy at work, with somewhere between dozens and thousands of Republican activists attending these events. Cruz has also gotten good results at state and local conventions in states that do hold a presidential preference vote. In fact, considering that relatively few states have completed their convention process, it’s remarkable how many examples you can find of Cruz cleaning Trump’s clock: for example, in Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina and South Dakota. It’s possible that Trump will improve his delegate-selection efforts in subsequent states, and with his chance of winning the GOP nomination down to 49 percent at prediction markets, he’s become a tempting buy-low opportunity. fivethirtyeight.com/features/ted-cruz-not-paul-ryan-would-probably-win-a-contested-convention/

bushman, again, don't misunderstand me-I didn't know nor do I care how Colorado chooses their candidates since I don't live there, and I don't care who wins the nomination. Remember this post is about why I, underline I, may choose not to vote. I merely use Colorado as an example of a system that does legally, by the rules, trivialize the individual vote. It's the Colorado repubs who are complaining, not I. If voting is construed to be some sacred or moral obligation, the Colorado system sure seems to disagree with that premise, as does the Colorado state republican party officials.
