Hi all. I found this on a newly laid stone path. There's a new housing development near me and one of the tracks around a storm water system has been loose laid with large chunky rocks. I'm finding loads of agate and even some odd geode looking stuff which I'll put up later. I would imagine the rocks are sourced from a local quarry although I'm unsure which one. But for now I'm confused by this thing. It is solid however if you were to run it under water and scrub it it seems as though it would eventually disintegrate. It has various little creatures all the way through, the most obvious are on the bottom. What I find realy interesting which you can't see well from the pics, but it appears to have 2 creases in it like it at one stage was folded together, and when you hold it in the palm of your hand it realy does resemble a small roundish poo with lots of partially digested stuff through it. Possible? If not then does anybody have any idea what it may be? Many thanks

It's a small piece of what would be called a death plate. The round donut looking things, and the long segmented things in pic 2 are crinoid stems.

My bad. I forgot to welcome you to the forum.
You're quite welcome. Feel free to ask any rock, mineral or fossil questions you and your son like. Someone on here will be able to give you an answer.
